Mission


The mission of the Tourette Association of America is to provide help and hope to those affected by Tourette Syndrome, Tic Disorders and associated conditions through Awareness, Support and Advocacy.
Founded in 1984, the Tourette Association of America, Greater NY State Chapter serves 57 counties in ”upstate” NY State Noth of Westchester County to the borders of Quebec and Ontario, Canada, west and south to the Pennsylvania border and east to the borders of Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut We work to raise awareness and provide ongoing support to patients and families impacted by Tourette Syndrome and Tic Disorders.
What We Do:
•We raise awareness and acceptance of TS through education.
•We have a strong program that we provide at no cost to educate educators, employers, social service agencies, first responders, etc.to better serve the needs of children, adults and families challenged by Tourette and Tic Disorders.
•We attend 504 meetings and IEP meetings with parents to advocate for their child to make sure that they receive the help and services that they need to succeed in school.
•We provide support through support groups, a summer camp, many, many children and family activities, conferences, awareness projects, etc..
•We have a multitude of trained Youth Ambassadors who go into schools to educate classroom peers of a child with TS.
